Dear Guru Maharaja,

Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

I remember when we earlier met you, with characteristic humility, you mentioned that you have been “trying to chant” for the past 25 years. I remember walking away with the thought that how can something apparently so simple require so much time.

Today, after almost 20 years of trying to chant, I have a better appreciation of your commitment, humility, and perseverance. You once mentioned that spirituality is like swimming upstream and for you it’s also towing so many of us upstream.

As we cross 50 years of ISKCON, I am sure your Guru Maharaja is looking down appreciatively at how sincerely you are carrying forth his vision and mission. Thank you for being there.
