Most Respected Guru Mahārāja,

Please accept our humble obeisances in the dust of your divine lotus feet. All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda.

Śrīla Prabhupāda emphasized that his books are the basis of the spiritual life of his followers. With great personal sacrifices and compassion, he made his books freely available to the people of this world. A common man who reads Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books definitely experiences purification of heart and gets inspiration to begin spiritual practices. However, to become true followers of Śrīla Prabhupāda, precise guidance in applying his teachings is essential, with a careful consideration of one’s nature, and the time, place and circumstances. The essence of such guidance is to live a life for pleasing Guru and Kṛṣṇa, through the proper execution of one’s sādhana, occupational duties, and family responsibilities. In the rapidly degrading Kali-yuga, as the occupational and family duties are not in line with Vedic duties, they tend to cover the pure motivation to please Kṛṣṇa. The process of hearing and chanting purges material motivation and gives us spiritual motivation, as emphasized in Srimad-Bhagavatam 1.2.14:

tasmād ekena manasā
bhagavān sātvatām patiḥ
śrotavyaḥ kīrtitavyaś ca
dhyeyaḥ pūjyas ca nityadā

By hearing from Sir about your divine qualities, we deeply appreciate your faith in chanting the holy name and Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books as the means of deliverance of the fallen people of this age. By your mercy, the exemplary way in which Sir and Mātāji live their lives committed to chanting, hearing and study of Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books gives us inspiration and confidence to live these teachings purely. Sir’s precise guidance and daily hearing in the morning and evening, is helping us to maintain pure spiritual motivation in our duties. Thus, we are able to relate Kṛṣṇa consciousness as a joyful process that Śrīla Prabhupāda discusses in his books several times. The spiritual progress that we are experiencing makes us deeply appreciate that Sir has been profusely blessed by you and other Vaiṣṇavas to offer this precise guidance to us.

We sincerely pray and seek your blessings that we can continue to be the recipient of this descending mercy with deeper faith and gratitude.

Your aspiring servants,
Rāghava Paṇdita dāsa and Hari Priya dāsi
