Dearest Srila Romapada Swami,

Please accept my most humble obeisances and all glories to Srila Prabhupada and to you on this most auspicious occasion of your Vyasa-puja!

As an offering I have tried to compile a poem about you.

Your Glance
Your glance can pierce straight to the soul and inspires us to do so much more.
Oh what great fortune for one who has had the chance to be in the line of your merciful glance.
It is completely filled with loving mercy and has the power to help one see clearly.
I had the great fortune two years ago to receive your glance in Mayapura.
Many many years had gone by and direct communication had nearly run dry.
With that one glance all of time and place faded away and within your shelter I was determined to stay.
Tears of gratitude fell from my eyes
and I directly felt the blessing of one who is most wise.
Now I have made a practice to humbly pray that I may be worthy of your merciful glance one day.
Oh guru Maharaja, I realized in that moment your merciful glance is always there to guide us home with great loving care.

yasya prasadad bhagavat prasado
yasya prasadan na gatih kuto’pi
dyayan stuvams tasya yasas tri-sandhyam vande guru sri-caranaravindam

“By the mercy of the spiritual master one receives the benediction of Krsna”

In this verse it is said without the grace of the spiritual master one cannot make any advancement. Your heart is so kind and loving and your knowledge is crystal clear. Your instructions always perfectly match the time, place and circumstances and you are so understanding. I am so grateful to have been accepted into this exalted discipline succession and am thankful that you are the object of my vision when I sing the samsara prayers in the mornings.

I pray that I may continue to carve out the time to hear from you and study the philosophy deeply so that I can take advantage of this chance to learn from you. I pray that I may always stay within the shelter of your merciful glance.

Your aspiring servant,
