Yasoda devi dasi
My dearest spiritual father, my Guru Maharaja,
Please accept the most humble obeisances from your disciple Yasoda devi dasi at the dust of your lotus feet. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and your lotus feet!
Recently my sadhana is fairly stable. I get up at 4:30, take a shower and start chanting my japa. In April, I signed up for two courses, Ayurveda self-healing and Bhakti Bindu – a course of karatala. They have reduced my time to listen to your lectures, because both courses require some time to practice and moreover, there is homework to do.
Under the government control, many online associations and lectures given by the spiritual masters have been cut short. Fortunately, I have kept the recordings of your lectures on my Baidu drive, which I would listen with earphones when cooking in the kitchen. The face-to-face association on Saturday or Sunday has been a must for me. I still stay in the Hladini group.
The majority of my time has been devoted to performing my material duties. At least five times a week I would send prasadam to the home of my parents. By the mercy of Lord Krsna and your instructions, my parents are doing well. My mother chants sixteen rounds in several goes each day, my father chants five to seven rounds. My younger sister is also chanting one round a day, at the most four rounds.
I have learned some knowledge from the Ayurveda self-healing course. From July, the teacher requested every student to evaluate their sadhana and work out a plan to enhance it. My plan is to increase three to five rounds every day, read the scriptures at least half an hour a day. From July 15, I have been sticking to this plan and hope to keep it on. When I have more free time, I would chant more and read more.
On August 5, Hu Qing brought a new devotee to my home. I called in some devotees nearby and together we had a program, doing arati and kirtana for over an hour. All of them were very excited. On August 6, when we had our regular Saturday program, we agreed on many details on how to celebrate the Appearance of Lord Krsna on August 19. We shall celebrate in the home of Labanga Mataji.
My dearest spiritual father! Time flies. Whenever I see your bright face shining in your online classes, your sound vibration and your smile, I feel inspired to keep going firmly on this bhakti path. Nevertheless, many times I failed to listen to your lectures. I’m so lazy and fallen. For several years I haven’t seen you, got your personal association and served your lotus feet. Whenever I enter my Deity room, I will see your photo immediately. I would fall down and pray to you. At this moment when I’m writing this prayer, I’m full of tears and my body trembling. I’m writing looking at your face. How I wish I could stay always at your lotus feet and serve you!
My most respected spiritual master, my spiritual father who has given me the second life! As my spiritual practice progresses and my age grows, I can realize that spiritual progress relies only on the Lord’s mercy and your instructions and teachings. Stay simple and sincere, maintain a firm faith, try to become a humble servant of Krsna, abide by the principles prescribed by Krsna, follow the teachings great souls like you have given us, and we shall attract the Lord’s mercy.
My most beloved Guru Maharaja, thank you for giving your blessings to my family. Now my parents feel they are healthy in body, mind and soul. They become notedly more peaceful.
They say: “We wish Guru Maharaja good health and smooth preaching.”
A fallen soul, your disciple,
Yasoda devi dasi
