“When I examine myself for qualifications, I find none. Your mercy is everything.”
[Saranagati song by Bhaktivinoda Thakura]

Srila Gurudeva, over the recent few years, we have experienced the typical ebbs and flows of general life. We also witnessed how folks around us (neighbors, friends, relatives) react to their respective ups and downs. One realization that dawned on us is that, even with our most insignificant bhakti and dependence on Your mercy, we were able to navigate these sudden turns in life. While looking at the folks who don’t have a connection to bhakti and seeing them react in different ways, we realized how lucky we should have been to have received causeless mercy from the Lord through His perfect disciple. We understand that we have to hold on and climb an extremely long creeper of bhakti. However, your presence, both in vani and vapuh helps us to a great extent to not let go of the bhakti-lata-bija.

Guru Maharaja, a few devotees in Atlanta commented, “what you both would have done in your past lives, that you are getting an opportunity to serve Your spiritual master time and again.” After that comment and some deep introspection, we realized, that we may not have done anything at all and that it’s but pure causeless mercy of the Lord, that we are getting this opportunity to serve Your divine lotus feet and gain some purification. We have observed in other places where You visit, our Godsisters and Godbrothers hanker eagerly to serve You and at times, there’s a pretty tough competition. However, in our case, by the divine arrangement, we have the entire pleasure of serving Your lotus feet. In that attempt to serve and please You, we humbly beg for Your kind forgiveness, in our shortcomings. By Your mercy and instructions, we hope to serve You better. Gurudeva, whenever You let us know of your visits to Atlanta, we feel very excited, it feels like a spiritual booster shot. We pray and hope that we get Your kind association in the form of Your ever-wonderful classes and possibly Your physical presence, so we may grow in our bhakti and humbly inspire others around us to take shelter of His Divine Grace, Srila Prabhupada.
