Sikhandini devi dasi
Dear Gurudeva,
Please accept my most humble obeisances in the dust of your lotus feet.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada! All glories to your divine and auspicious appearance day!
Happy birthday! I miss my spiritual father the most! On this beautiful and auspicious day, please accept your daughter’s obeisances like a humble bow. You reveal the auspicious light of the sun, which is more precious than millions of sunrises, because it illuminates the path for countless souls to return home. On this sacred day of your appearance, countless devotees regain their identity and recognize the path back to Krsna because of you.
I used to be a beggar wandering in the material wilderness, and it was you who pulled me from the abyss of delusion to the altar of dedication with the rope of Guru’s (your) love. You rise like the morning sun, dispelling the darkness of ignorance covering my soul. You hold high the torch of Srila Prabhupada, and the mission of Lord Caitanya flows through your footsteps. With tireless chanting and unconditional love, you turn the thorns of Kali-yuga into a path of dedication.
As your most unworthy disciple, I often fall into the quagmire of material attachments, but you never rebuke me. You use scriptures as medicine and the holy name as a thread, stitching my shattered consciousness again and again.
Dear Gurudeva, the father I miss the most, please glance upon me with your wisdom. Help me to learn how to be of service and to undergo transformation through chanting. Let me become the voice that carries your message, and a mirror that reflects your love.
May Lord Nrsimhadeva protect you with the power of His lion’s roar. May your health flow steadily like the Ganges, and may your preaching shine like the sun and moon.
Your daughter,
Sikhandini devi dasi
