Most Respected Guru Maharaja,

Hare Krsna. We offer our most humble and respectful obeisances in the dust of your divine lotus feet. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

This auspicious occasion of Vyasa-puja gives us an opportunity to reflect upon the causeless mercy we have received, as Srila Prabhupada explains in his purport on Bhagavad-gita (3.29), “Men who are ignorant cannot appreciate activities in Krsna consciousness, and therefore Lord Krsna advises us not to disturb them and simply waste valuable time. But the devotees of the Lord are more kind than the Lord because they understand the purpose of the Lord. Consequently, they undertake all kinds of risks, even to the point of approaching ignorant men to try to engage them in the acts of Krsna consciousness, which are absolutely necessary for the human being”.

As we reflect our lives in retrospect, certainly we had neither appreciation for Srila Prabhupada nor for the devotees dedicated to carry forward his mission of compassion. Rather we ridiculed activities of devotees out of ignorance. Thus we were destined to be born in demoniac species lives after lives, as Srila Prabhupada describes in his purport on Srimad-Bhagavatam (1.2.16), “In the Bhagavad-gita (Sixteenth Chapter) a vivid description of the asuras is given in which it is said that the asuras are put into lower and lower states of ignorance life after life and so sink to the lower animal forms and have no information of the Absolute Truth, the Personality of Godhead. These asuras are gradually rectified to God consciousness by the mercy of the Lord’s liberated servitors in different countries according to the supreme will”.

It is our good fortune to be carefully trained by our preceptor, Sir, and thus be enabled to recognize the qualities and sacrifices of saintly personalities. Mataji has sacrificed so much and tolerated so much nonsense from all of us. We have been hearing about you, from Sir, and also personally witnessing your unflinching determination and enthusiasm to carry forward the mission of Srila Prabhupada in this age of Kali filled with opposition. The world is very much in need of Srila Prabhupada’s mercy, particularly in the form of his teachings demonstrated through the lives of those who are faithful to him. We see a great benediction in the association you are offering to the world yourself and through those, like our teacher, who love you most dearly and serve you most devotedly.

We feel very fortunate to be a participant in Sir’s honest endeavor to offer the world a pure example of Srila Prabhupada’s teachings fully depending on your blessings and empowerment. We sincerely beg for your blessings to serve as faithful students, being eternally grateful for the grave risks taken for our progressive sojourn in Krsna consciousness.
