Gurudeva, You have instructed us that
To chant the holy name “Hare Krsna”
Will clean our heart from the dust Accumulated from time immemorial.
You have taught us that to chant the
Holy name is the means and the end.

Gurudeva, You have shown us that the process of devotional service has two
tracks. One is purifying the heart by the chanting of the holy name, The other is
spiritual teachings that give proper direction.
Knowledge alone is not enough.
Cleansing of the heart alone is not enough.
We need both.

Gurudeva, You are so merciful
You planted a lotus flower in our heart.
Progressive chanting without offenses
Will water and make the lotus flower sprout.
In due course the lotus will open
To receive the lotus feet
Of our beloved Lord Sri Krsna.

Gurudeva, You have also made us realize,
It is only via Guru that we will have the blessings of Krsna.
