Supriya Bahri
Dear Maharaja,
On this most auspicious day I offer my most respectful obeisances at your lotus feet. Though I am not present with you in person, I am there in spirit.
Your continual communication with me is such a support and guide beyond what words can express. When most people struggle aimlessly in life to fulfill their empty material desires, I find immense satisfaction in hearing from your kind blessings that you are always pouring on us, no matter what the circumstances are.
Over the last few years when we were struggling with high school for our older child, you spent so many hours in discussing our concerns and suggested a number of options and solutions. You have always brought yourself down to our platform to be able to help us even though the reality is that you are so far above all of these mundane things. Yet, you do it for us, so that you can help guide us and keep reminding us that Krsna is the center of our lives and serving Lord Krsna is the purpose of our human life.
Most recently when we met in July, I felt very motivated by what you shared with me. Even though I had lost the taste for chanting, you reminded me that ‘I must’ and that it should not be seen as an option – you always shared with me Srila Prabhupada’s story and took the added effort to send me the stories on commitment. It was one of our best meetings and I have now taken to heart that commitment. With Krsna’s mercy and your blessings, I hope to stay steady on my commitment and look forward to formally beginning my journey in serving Lord Krsna.
We are surrounded by hopelessness, anxiety, and agony, but we have to think deeper and realize that Lord Krsna has sent His servants and confidants to rescue us from drowning. You have been so kind to me for the past 10+ years and have always extended your arm to rescue me. It is me who is a fool and was hesitating to hold on to you. But now I have realized and am convinced that the only way to progress in spiritual life is to seek shelter of a guru like you.
You have dutifully continued to carry out Srila Prabhupada’s mission and all we have to do is to stay on the course. I pray that I may be able to hold on to your shelter.
With endless gratitude,
Supriya
