Priti-Vardhana devi dasi
Dear Gurudeva,
Please accept sincere obeisances from your humble servant! All glories to Srila Prabhupada! All glories to you, my great spiritual father!
Today is your appearance day, my father. As your servant, I want to say a lot to honor you, because all your services have long been inspiring me and strengthening my faith in bhakti. When I was totally new to bhakti yoga, I was so fortune to receive your blessings and instructions. Every moment with you puts me to shame. Sometimes I can’t understand how every day you are totally absorbed in devotional services.
Whenever you come to China, you go all out in every program. It’s highly challenging to preach in China. We, these servants, can’t do anything. But your preaching has had a great bearing upon many Chinese students. For so many years, the dust under your lotus feet has cleansed more and more disciples who would like to follow you. You play such an important role in China’s preaching work. You are getting older as time goes by. I don’t know how many more chances for physical association I can get with you. Therefore, I sincerely wish my great father to be healthy, and, as we Chinese say, “to live as long as the South Mountain.”
Every year when I write this Vyasa-puja prayer for you, I recall all the scenarios when I followed you around in your preaching journeys. Those unforgettable lectures and the distribution of the Holy Name and books give great inspirations to my heart. I eagerly expect you to come to China every year, and allow me, such a fallen soul, to render some meager services to you. Your mercy allows me to serve your instructions and teachings better and better!
Your humble servant,
Priti-Vardhana devi dasi
