Dear Guru Maharaja,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Your Holiness! All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

Several days ago, in our kid’s Srimad-Bhagavatam class, we read a beautiful purport given by Srila Prabhupada:

“The sufferings of an orphan and the sufferings of a beloved child of a king are not one and the same. The suffering of an orphan is really poor because he has no one to take care of him, but a beloved son of a rich man, although he appears to be on the same level as the orphan, is always under the vigilance of his capable father.” [Srimad-Bhagavatam Purport 1.5.19]

In this material world, everyone is like an orphan. Due to conditioned life, they are struggling very hard with the six senses. [Bhagavad-gita 15.7]. In cases of traumas which are frequently found especially in this Kali-yuga, small or big, we can always find that those shelters we take for granted are vulnerable and thus cause lots of distress. Even experienced psychological counselors cannot give substantial support on cases like “death anxiety” or “loneliness” which are actually the symptoms of conditionsed spirit soul. However, Srila Prabhupada and his many torchbearers like your Holiness significantly change this situation! By making great efforts to give Krsna consciousness worldwide, you grant the opportunity to cut down the root of material distress, the ignorance. How fortunate we are!

Now we are not a poor orphan anymore. Through the holy names, you kindly gave us a great father to pray to and take shelter of Acyuta, the infallible! We have access to bhakti-sastra for nourishments, and your lectures make them even more relishable and digestable! As a real well-wisher, you point out the traps on the road of bhakti and share insights and resources whenever needed and necessary. Again, how fortunate we are!

Rasamayi and I are now staying with my in-laws for summer holidays. During a family travel, I came across a father who was talking about his son proudly, for he took care of the whole family by taking care of all the expenses, including the travel. My contemplation is that when that day will come, when my dear spiritual father, your Holiness will also feel proud of me? I will pray that day to come soon so that I may serve you nicely.

Your humble servant,
