Padmanabha dasa
Dear Guru Maharaja,
Hare Krsna. Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
On this very auspicious occasion I wish to express words of gratitude to you for putting me on the right path. It is only due to your unlimited mercy that I became aware of the many wonderful instructions provided by the vedic scriptures to lead a meaningful life.
Srila Rupa Gosvami has taught the way of executing devotional service in simple and practical terms. He has shown the way of rising above the unending tribulations of material life. He wrote, “One who engages in the transcendental service of the Lord in body, mind and words is to be considered liberated, in all conditions of life “.
Before receiving this knowledge, my life was just the opposite.
“Anyone whose work is not meant to elevate him to religious life, anyone whose religious, ritualistic performances do not raise him to renunciation, and anyone situated in renunciation that does not lead him to devotional service to the Supreme Personality of Godhead must be considered dead although breathing. “[Srimad-Bhagavatam 3.23.56]
Maharaja, your own life is a source of great inspiration. You left your home and family at a young age to serve Srila Prabhupada.
Your very presence sustains my life.
With deep gratitude
I remain
Your servant,
Padmanabha dasa
