Dear Guru Maharaja,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to you on this auspicious day of your Vyasa-puja. All glories to Srila Prabhupada, parampara and Sri Radha-Krsna.

On this auspicious day of your Vyasa-puja celebration, I offer my dandavat to the dust of your lotus feet. You are an empowered personality and distributing the holy name of the Lord and enjoining all fallen souls to worship Krsna. By distributing the holy name of the Lord, you are cleansing the hearts of the most fallen people and thus extinguishing the blazing fire of the material world. I am a perfect example of the most fallen soul and you bestowed your mercy on me by giving me shelter at your lotus feet.

You are krsnalingita-vigraha, one who is always embraced by Sri Krsna. You are above the considerations of the varnasrama-dharma, a devotee on the topmost platform. By your mercy one day I may be able to rise above this bodily platform like You and taste the nectar of Krsna’s lotus feet like a honeybee or remain entangled in the lotus feet of Krsna like the royal swan.

Sabari was sincerely serving her guru and her guru blessed her that one day she will get darsana of Lord Sri Rama. She had faith in the guru’s instruction and after many years finally Lord Rama appeared at her house. She only glorified her guru in Lord Rama’s presence and the Lord was very much moved by her devotion to her guru. You have the same faith in Your guru’s instruction and may that faith arise in my heart by Your mercy.

By your sincere surrender and service to Your guru Srila Prabhupada, all the transcendental knowledge is revealed in Your heart and Your heart is filled with krsna-prema. By your mercy may a drop of that knowledge and prema arise in my heart.

You bestow your mercy on all fallen souls and devotees by visiting different places and glorify the Lord and His Names and sanctify the places by always carrying the Lord in your heart.

“I offer my respectful obeisances unto my spiritual master, the deliverer of the fallen souls. His mercy turns the dumb into eloquent speakers and enables the lame to cross mountains.”

I am a perfect example of mukam and pangum but by your divine mercy I am applying your instructions in my life by hearing your lectures (in particular Saranagati lectures), meditating on your mantra sound, chanting at least sixteen rounds each day, and serving Krsna and His devotees. I was able to do different services only by your grace otherwise I am utterly incompetent to think and do so.

I am feeling the flow of mercy from You, the parampara, and Lord Krsna in different challenges and in all situations by applying your instructions.

On the most auspicious day of Your appearance, I beg that You please accept this offering as a humble attempt to somehow or other reciprocate with Your causeless mercy. Furthermore, I beg that You kindly remove the black umbrella of ignorance that is presently covering me so that I can properly receive and follow Your instructions and try and serve Your lotus feet with ever-increasing purity, love and devotion.

Your humble servant,
Sankarsana dasa
