Dear Guru Maharaja,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Your Holiness! All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
Some days ago I read some essay about psychology aids during the earthquake period in Sichuan 2008. It described vividly how people were suffering and struggling. It made me cry. I am thinking how many times we are suffering like that or even worse life after life? Trauma and disaster is always repeating.
In your video for Srila Prabhupada’s appearance day celebration, you mentioned this: People are suffering unnecessarily. Mahaprabhu and the disciplic succession try to teach people how to be happy. It is a topic of real healing, and not on the material level. For several years now, I am always searching for healing, either learning Chinese traditional medical science or psychology. I have the obsession that in our conditioned state, we need a healthy body and mind to perform devotional services properly. Well… maybe this is not wrong to some extent, but the material world is harsh and it can turn everything that is intact into broken pieces in the blink of an eye, and this will be especially true when one does not take up spiritual practices.
I can still remember during your one visit to Shanghai when I talked about this tendency and self-exploration. Your Holiness kindly pointed out that my real identity is a spirit soul and not the body. On the contrary, Krsna’s pastime can easily bring a beaming smile to everyone’s face whatever tendency he or she has. It is mysterious.
“This knowledge is the king of education, the most secret of all secrets. It is the purest knowledge, and because it gives direct perception of the self by realization, it is the perfection of religion. It is everlasting, and it is joyfully performed.” [Bhagavad-gita 9.2]
Krsna consciousness is the end of psychological counseling and it surely is.
