Padmanabha dasa
Dear Guru Maharaja,
Hare Krsna. Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
On this auspicious day of your Vyasa-puja, I feel a surge of gratitude to you for engaging me in your service. You have dedicated your entire life to serving Srila Prabhupada’s mission. I am trying to draw some inspiration from your glorious life and assist you in your efforts.
You indicated to me that in the stage of vanaprastha asrama that I am in, my service is ‘learning and teaching’. It is such an enlightening instruction most suitable for contemporary times. In the earlier times, people went to the forest to practice austerity and detachment from material activities while meditating on the Supreme Lord for their own liberation. In the current times, learning and teaching would mean rendering service to others by helping them in going back to Godhead. Srila Prabhupada demonstrated this by preaching until his last breath.
I am endeavoring in this area of service although in a small and insignificant way.
I pray to you Maharaja to bestow your merciful empowerment upon me without which, I will not be able to make any progress.
With deep gratitude I remain,
Your servant,
Padmanabha dasa
