Dear most munificent Guru Maharaja,
Please accept our humble obeisances at the dust of your lotus feet. All glories to Your Divine Grace. All glories to His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada.
Guru Maharaja, Vyasa-puja ceremony is a special event for the disciples. This is the time to express our gratitude towards the causeless mercy you bestowed upon us. Though we don’t have any qualification, as a mark of our love, we make an attempt to write a few words about your worthy and divine qualities that come from our hearts.
Guru Maharaja, all your classes are nectar for our ears and heart. Your recent classes at Naperville on compassion have made a great impact on our minds, senses and hearts. You covered important personalities from Srimad-Bhagavatam and Caitanya-caritamrta narrating their compassion. You explained how Narada is compassionate to relieve the misery of the animals from the hands of Mrgari.
It is true that miseries cannot be overcome by any means except by the mercy of a Vaisnava. He is always magnanimous. Guru Maharaja, you are a great Vaisnava and are so compassionate that you extend your mercy to all who come in contact with you, just like Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Our family is one such beneficiary who is blessed with your kindness, compassion and care. You also have the great quality of tolerance (titiksava) exhibited at all times.
Vaisnavas are not bothered about the result of their compassion even though they may be unfavorable. They are para-dukha-dukhi. Bharata Maharaja showed compassion to an orphaned deer though the attachment led to his delayed liberation. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu did not mind embracing a leper brahmana Vasudeva. Srila Prabhupada was so compassionate that he travelled to the U.S. on a cargo ship at the age of sixty-nine to preach Krsna consciousness to the west despite personal inconveniences during the travel and for almost a year thereafter until his movement was firmly established.
Guru Maharaja, you have deep love towards your Guru Maharaja and your internal commitment toward serving his mission. You take all inconveniences and pains in propagating Krsna consciousness as a duty towards your spiritual master.
Guru Maharaja, you have the wisdom of identifying young devotee preachers, encouraging them, and involving them in your preaching sessions. The latest example is the presence of His Grace Radhika Raman Prabhu associating with you in the Gita-nagari retreat. Prabhu gave two nice classes and at the end of the session, he gave nice and mature replies as well during the question and answer session.
Guru Maharaja, please bless us that we remain always under the shelter of your lotus feet, follow your vani and render the required services to move forward in our spiritual path.
On your Vyasa-puja, we pray to our Nitai Caitanya Candra to give you enough strength, health, vitality and vision to serve the mission of Srila Prabhupada for a long time to come.
Your most insignificant servants,
Dina Dayal dasa, and Kanaka Manjari devi-dasi
