Padmanabha dasa
Dear Guru Maharaja,
Hare Krsna. Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
On this auspicious occasion of your Vyasa-puja, I wish to express my deep gratitude to you, for all that I received from you.
I also wish to draw some inspiration from Srila Prabhupada’s life and your life, which could guide me in my own spiritual life.
One key aspect of Srila Prabhupada’s life has been his consistent effort to carry out the instruction of his spiritual master. Even in his grhastha-asrama, he served the Gaudiya-matha and the Vaisnavas. There were challenges, but his mood was deeply Krsna conscious. After he took up the sannyasa order, his efforts to fulfill the mission of his spiritual master became more intense, despite many challenges.
I find the same consistency of service, as a dominating feature of your life too Maharaja. You had many challenges, but you remained steadfast in your efforts. I remember one of your visits to Hyderabad temple. You had a severe problem with your leg. It was very painful for you to walk or climb steps. Yet, you carried out all the programs scheduled. This is just one example.
I am trying to draw inspiration from your life to remain consistent in my service to you. While facing challenges, I am endeavoring to overcome complacency. I am trying to prevent the problems from affecting the spirit of my service. All this will be possible only with your blessings and descending mercy. I pray to you Maharaja to empower me to serve you.
Your grateful servant,
Padmanabha dasa
