Sri Sundari devi dasi
Dear Gurudeva,
On the occasion of your auspicious appearance day, please accept your humble disciple Sri Sundari devi dasi’s birthday wishes for you: wishing you fortune like flowing water in the East Sea, longevity like evergreen pine trees in the Southern Mountain!
Since receiving second initiation from you in August last year, I have increasingly felt your kindness and power. Like an unknown flower in the forest, I feel fortunate to receive your kind favor and favor, but at the same time, I feel guilty for not providing any service. Dear Gurudeva, besides praying for your kindness and strength, what else can I do as a humble and ignorant person?
You are like a lighthouse on the vast sea, illuminating the way home, and a lost ship can find a safe harbor;
You are like the green pine on the mountaintop, standing proudly and becoming stronger with wind, frost, rain, snow, lightning, and thunder;
You are like the cool breeze blowing in the hot and restless summer, removing the scorching heat and waves, as well as the ignorance, troubles, and sorrows in my heart;
You are like a gentle rain in a long drought, carrying transcendent knowledge to extinguish forest fires, nourish dry land and hungry seedlings, and restore their vitality and growth;
You are a diligent gardener, sowing the seeds of love in my heart, watering them with knowledge, nurturing them with love and kindness;
You are the walking bhagavata, wherever you go, you give classics, enlighten wisdom, dispel doubts, and spread the sunshine of knowledge;
You are a desire tree that fulfills everyone’s wishes with abundant fruits and sweet juice, serving everyone;
You are the most loyal disciple of Srila Prabhupada. For sixty years, you have traveled to various places, preached and served, leading countless people into the path of bhakti-yoga and helping them steadily move forward on the path of devotional service;
You are the transparent representative of Krsna, showcasing His kindness, wisdom, and power, inspiring, motivating, and guiding us;
You are so kind to your disciples and to all sentient beings.
Let me honor you with the hymns of the poets of Vaisnava:
I offer sincere obeisances to my spiritual master. He bestowed upon me the beautiful kunti-mala, the sparkling tilak, the beautiful body of a devotee, and gave me his protection. He led my hand with one hand and held the lamp of knowledge with the other, helping me overcome this dark and ignorant ocean. My Guru deserves the highest respect, because he can save people in the blink of an eye. So I bow to him again and again. [Sur Das, Ancient Indian poet]
Once again, I sincerely wish Gurudeva a happy birthday! Good health and smooth preaching!
Your humble disciple,
Sri Sundari devi dasi
