“I was born in the darkest ignorance, and my spiritual master opened my eyes with the torch of knowledge. I offer my respectful obeisances unto him.”

Respected and beloved Guru Maharaja,

Please accept my humble obeisances at the dust of your lotus feet. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Your Divine Grace!

Through your lectures on Srimad-Bhagavatam, I have imbibed a little bit of your immense liking of Srila Prabhupada’s purports. When I see through your lens, I can understand better the message that Prabhupada has taken so much pains to give us. When you said in a lecture on Srimad-Bhagavatam 2.3.20, “These purports are classic. They are repeated over and over again. It’s like poetry.” (Lecture on Srimad-Bhagavatam 2.3.20 – Sound cloud -269046593), I could feel your love for Srimad-Bhagavatam and for Srila Prabhupada. Though I am not yet able to see the poetry, I am able to appreciate these purports better and they are making some dents in my steel framed heart. Reading and discussing Srimad-Bhagavatam has become a daily routine and relished activity.

When I am depressed and dejected, your lectures give me solace and motivate me to keep up my endeavors. Even though you are thousands of miles away, thanks to technology, you are present through your vani to take care of us. Several times, even though there may not be a direct connection between my problem and the topic of the lecture, something that you say resonates with me and uplifts my spirits. Thank you, Guru Maharaja, for all your causeless mercy.

On this auspicious occasion of Vyasa-puja, please bless me to develop a drop of your guru-nistha and determination.

Your insignificant servant,
Kumarika devi-dasi
