Sthira devi dasi
Dear and respected Guru Maharaja,
Please accept my humble obeisances at the dust of your lotus feet. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
It has been a mesmerizing journey from the day I met you till today. Life has been transformed by the instructions, teachings, sound vibration coming from your lotus mouth, your example and the example of those who have been transformed by your association. All my friends are your gift to me, all the dealings in life provide an opportunity to apply, learn and remember your instructions, my teachers are your gift who bring to me your empowerment, kindness and mercy.
You are the Hanuman in all your disciples’ lives. You travel innumerable yojanas to find Sita like living entities and give them the message of Rama. Sitting under the Shimshupa tree Mother Sita is piteously crying, pinning for Lord Rama. She is scared and not ready to trust Hanuman. That is when Hanuman starts to narrate the whole Ramayana from the point that Mother Sita was brought to Sri Lanka. By narrating the heart and longing of Lord Ramacandra for Mother Sita, the description of His bodily features, the effort and eagerness of the Lord to win Sita back, Hanuman wins Mother Sita’s trust. Then he carries her message to the Lord. Likewise you act as the representative of the Lord in our lives facilitating our service and interactions with the Lord.
The troubled and distracted living entity is looking for relief. You give the hope that the Lord exists and is eagerly waiting for the arrival of the living entity back home. You are the GPS, constantly guiding and showing us the path to be united back with the Lord. Living entities have small fragments of remembrance of the Lord, you fan the spark to become a blazing fire allowing the living entity to see the Lord. One retreat after another, one yatra after another, an ocean of classes around the year is your creative way of reminding us of the Lord and drawing us closer to Him. Your only aspiration through your travel is – to draw the living entity closer in their relationship with the Lord.
The absorption of a living entity in the messages of the Lord is limited due to distractions. Yet, you don’t give up on us. Like a loving father you are happy to explain the instructions and teachings multiple times with patience, love and compassion towards the living entity. Thank you for your tireless effort and service rendered in this world as an emissary of the Lord.
On this auspicious day of your appearance I seek your blessings and empowerment to please enable me to assist you in this mission with the mood to please you and Lord Rama.
Your servant,
Sthira devi dasi
